David Ruiz Sr.

David Luis Ruiz Sr. of Kailua-Kona, died on Nov. 22, 2019, in Kailua-Kona. Born on July 14, 1939, in New Mexico, he worked as a longshoreman.

He is survived by son, David Ruiz Jr. of Carlsbad, Calif. and two grandchildren.

Rosie Crivello

Rosie Marie Crivello, 85, of Papaikou, died Nov. 13, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born March 28, 1934, in Hilo, she was a homemaker and member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. Dec. 6 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at Kalaoa Catholic Cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by son, Jerry (Betty) Crivello of Volcano; daughters, Susan (Rodney) Segawa and Donna (Gilbert) Benevides of Hilo, Selma (Kevin) Matsunami of Papaikou, Eileen (Bradley) Erece of Pepeekeo; brothers, Juan (Julia) Pacheco and Ernest Pacheco of Wainaku, Joseph (Rose) Pacheco of Ninole, Wilfred Pacheco of Fern Acres; sisters, Evelyn (Mario) Fernandez of Hilo, Carol Ah Puck of Papaaloa, Georgina Labisores of Volcano; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Randall Kawachi

Randall “Isamu” Kawachi, 69, of Keaau, died Nov. 20, 2019, in Hilo. Born Dec. 20, 1949, in Ka’u, he was the retired owner of Randall’s Welding, welder for the former Hilo Coast Processing Company and U.S. Navy Vietnam War veteran.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Dec. 8 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for an 11 a.m. service. Friends may again call at 9 a.m. Dec. 9 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No.2 for a graveside committal service and burial. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by daughters, Randilyn (Francis Livingston) Kawachi-Livingston of Waikoloa, Ranelle Kawachi of Hilo; son, Lance Lee (Shawnie) Kawachi of Hilo; sisters, Rosalyn Macabio of Pahoa, Lois (Kalae) Lopez of Keaau; nine grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Kaweo Kanoho

Kaweo Hiroyoshi Kanoho, 42, of Hilo, died Nov. 22, 2019. Born in Hilo, he was a travel agent and tour guide for Tours by Charlie and member of Hawaii Opera Theatre, Mae Z. Orvis Opera Studio, Hui Okinawa and Hilo Okinawan Cultural Club.

Friends may call at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 14 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 5 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by father, Charles L. Kanoho, Jr.; sister, Nozomi Kanoho; and grandmother, Kuulei Kanoho, all from Hilo; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Edward Yamasaki

Edward Yoshito Yamasaki, 79, of Honolulu, died on Nov. 24, 2019, at Kalakaua Gardens. Born in Hilo, he was a retired air conditioning repairman for air engineering.

Private services held.

He is survived by sister, Patsy Matsuo.
