Soane Letisi

Soane “Mavae” Letisi, 48, of Waimea, died Nov. 25, 2019, in Tonga. Born March 24, 1971, in Futu i Eua, Tonga, he was a security guard for Waikoloa Beach Marriott; American Guard services; Private Security Group and he was an Annunciation Catholic.

Viewing will be 5-9 p.m. Dec. 5 at Ballard Family Mortuary Hilo, 570 Kinoole St. in Hilo. Services will be Dec. 6 at Malia Puka O Kalani, 326 Desha Ave. in Hilo. Viewing is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mass is 1 p.m. Burial to follow at 2:30 p.m. at Homelani Memorial Park, 388 Ponahawai St. in Hilo.

Soane is survived by wife, Carol Aceret Letisi of Waimea; mom, Makalita Letisi of Hilo; son, Soane (Jade) Letisi of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughters, Luisa Letisi of Antioch, Calif., Haitelensia “Sia” Letisi of Concord, Calif.; brothers, Sangato (Joni) Letisi of Oren, Utah, Peni Letisi of Hilo, Dominic (Napua) Letisi Christensen Hilo, Tino (Kealoha) Letisi, of Kurtistwon, Funaki (Andrea) Letisi of Salem, Ore.; sisters, Pilimilose Letisi of Edmond, Wash., Atelaite Letisi of Waikoloa, Mary (Kiko) Letisi Vete of Edmond, Wash.; two grandchildren.

He was predeceased by dad, Hatimu Letisi; brother, Manupuna Lakalaka Letisi.

Norman Aguinaldo

Norman Aguinaldo, 80, of Honomu, died Nov. 19 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born on Nov. 20, 1938, in Honomu, he was a retired mechanic for the former Hawaii Motors, past co-owner of AC&S Automobile Repair and a member of the Honomu Good Shepherd Mission.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Dec. 11 at the Honomu Good Shepherd Mission, 28-3518 Honomu Lane, Honomu. Casual attire.

He is survived by wife, Dorothy Aguinaldo of Honomu; daughters, Toni (Gonzaka) Sorcy of Keaau, Nicole (Lyle Balingit) Aguinaldo of Pepeekeo, Jody (Christopher) Mitsumura of Maui, Judy (Ronald Kanakanui) Aguinaldo of Hilo and Colette (Darren Dana) Kelly of Hilo; brother, Lawrence (Lani) Aguinaldo of Hilo and Anthony “Duke” Aguinaldo of Hilo; brother-in-law; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

Shayne Gaison-Evangelista

Shayne “Kamaka” Gaison-Evangelista, 35, of Hilo, died Nov. 24, 2019, in Honolulu. Born March 18, 1984, in Hilo, he was an assistant manager for a retail store in Honolulu.

Friends may call 4-6 p.m. Dec. 7 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel for 6 p.m. celebration of his life at 6 p.m. Casual attire, flowers and lei are welcomed. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Dec. 9 at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section. In lieu of flowers, gifts accepted.

He is survived by parents, John Evangelista and Samuelyn “Sam” Gaison-Evangelista of Hilo; brother, John-Dexter “Loha” Gaison-Evangelista of Hilo; grandmother, Mary Evangelista of Pahala; hanai brothers, Joseph “Kahalewai” (Lisa) Amaral, Jr., Shannon “Macleroy” (Leemai) Kaupu and Sherman “Kamalei” (Ala) Kaupu of Hawaii; aunts, Selmajean (Joseph) Amaral, Sheiladine Kaupu, Sherylanne (Thompson) Quihano, Stellamarie Gaison and Georgette (Sonny) Ramos all from Hawaii; five uncles all of Hawaii; numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and family members.

Jane Fenske

Jane Emiko Fenske, 87, of Kailua-Kona, died Sept. 23, 2019, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born July 12, 1932, in Kailua-Kona, she was a presser for Ribbons and Curls Garment Factory, Aloha Born Free, Darina Garment Factory, Honolulu Laundry and Kona Laundry.

Private services were held. No koden.

She is survived by her brothers, Norman (Marilyn) Sakata of Holualoa, Itsuo Sakata of Kauai, Albert Sakata of Holualoa; sister, Nancy Fujimoto of Kailua-Kona; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
