Hamakua man arrested for domestic violence

KAILUA-KONA — Detectives charged a 31-year-old man last week for a domestic violence incident that occurred in Laupahoehoe.

On Dec. 4, at approximately 7:50 p.m., Hamakua patrol officers received a report of a female with numerous facial injuries at a business in the Laupahoehoe area, according to the Hawaii Police Department.

Officers contacted the female victim who reported that she had been involved in a physical domestic dispute with a family member while within their vehicle. The female was transported to the Hilo Medical Center where she was treated for multiple facial contusions, lacerations and a fracture, according to police.

On Dec. 5, Hamakua patrol officers located and arrested Madeyski and he was held in the police cellblock while detectives continued the investigation before conferring with prosecutors on charges, according to police.

On Dec. 6, Zodice Madeyski was charged for second-degree assault and abuse of a family/household member. His bail was set at $14,000 and he made his initial court appearance on Monday.
