Christmas with the Chefs awards six scholarships

The ACF Kona Kohala Chefs Association awarded six scholarships Saturday at the Christmas with the Chefs gala on the grounds of Courtyard King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel.

Recipients are all local culinary students who are continuing their education at Hawai’i Community College-Palamanui. They include Estefie Viernes, Blossom Kaunoni, Vichadach Chotikawan, Kamaile Gusman, Annie Skilling and Tanner Legler.

Marking its 31st year, Christmas with the Chefs founder Jean Hull also honored long-time participant awards. Those recognized for three decades of support included Tropical Dream Ice Cream and Greg Anderson of Sysco Hawaii (formerly known as HFM).
