George Mitsuda
George J. Mitsuda, 81, of Hilo, died Dec. 8, 2019, at the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired terminal superintendent with Aloha Petroleum, a 1956 graduate of Hilo High School, past president of the former Big Island Automotive Trade Association and a veteran of the US Air Force.
Visitation 10-11 a.m. Dec. 16 at the Dodo Mortuary chapel. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Casual attire; no flowers.

Robert McMahon
Robert “Reverend Robert” “Papa Smurf” Alan McMahon, 63, of Mountain View, died Dec. 2, 2019, at the Life Care Center of Hilo. He was a reverend, truck driver and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.

Jerry Kazuto Kubo, 82, of Waimea, died Nov. 1, 2019. Born in South Kona in 1936, he was a retired Honokaa Elementary and High School teacher.

Dale Kakuma Aoki, 60, of Kealakekua, died Dec. 5, 2019, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kealakekuaon Jan. 18, 1959, he was a plumber and co-owner of Aoki Plumbing Company.

Sueko Arakawa
Sueko Arakawa, age 92, of Pahoa, died Nov. 27, 2019, in the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Facility in Hilo. Born in Hilo Feb. 7, 1927, she was retired from Big Rock Anthurium, Inc. as an Anthurium Packer. She was a member of the Puna Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, Pahoa Higashi Machi Kumiai and Pahoa Nikkei Jin Kai.
Private services were held. No flowers. No Koden (monetary offerings).
Survived by sons, Wayne (Denise) Arakawa of Honolulu and Glenn (Erin) Arakawa of Hilo; daughters, Gail Fujimoto of Hilo and Edna (James Chestnut) Arakawa of Volcano; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
