KAILUA-KONA — A Volcano home suffered $34,800 in damages as result of a Thursday evening fire.

The Hawaii Fire Department said in a press release that responders arrived at the two-story Liona Street home around 6:30 p.m. and found the fire in the upstairs living area, where a significant amount of the living/dining room content had ignited.

The 2,514-square-foot single family dwelling sits at the terminus of a 200-foot narrow driveway.

The fire was extinguished shortly before 7 p.m. and the building ventilated of smoke and heat. No injuries were reported. HFD investigator remained on scene with Hawaii police to determine cause.

The estimated saved amount was valued at $197,200.
