Dony Stark

Dony Chris Stark, 61, of Kailua-Kona, died Oct. 10, 2019. Born Aug. 11, 1958, in Ogden, he was an auto body repair and painter, machinist for Southern Pacific Railroad, and a welder at Utility Trailer, Weber Country Deputy/Ballif, Hawaii construction and landscaping, and Home Depot M.E.T.

Celebration of life 1 p.m. Jan. 17, at the Palisades Pavilion, 73-1073 Kaiminani Dr., in Kailua-Kona. The family requests casual attire and not flowers please.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Stark; niece; father-in-law and mother-in-law.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann (Trujillo) Stark; daughter, Nicole Marie Stark (Josh Johnston); mother, Ann (Johnson) Stark, brothers, Stan (Sue), Jay (Babbette), Jeff (Dena), and Kirk (Penny) Stark; granddaughter; god-daughter; many nieces and nephews.

Kathleen Kali

Kathleen M. Furtado Kali, 67, of Pepeekeo, died Nov. 30, 2019, at home. She was born on Oct. 8, 1952.

A celebration of her life will be held noon to 5 p.m. Jan. 5 at Salt Pond Beach Park (Main Pavilion) on Kauai. Casual attire.

She is survived by husband, Robert Junior Kali of Pepeekeo; son, Harold (Kuuipo) Kali of Hanapepe, Kauai; daughters, Lorelee (Travis) Puou of Waianae, Oahu, Clara (William) Kali-Abihai of Kalaheo, Kauai and Monica (Chad) Kali-Gomes of Pepeekeo; brothers, John Furtado of Omao, Kauai, Calvin Furtado of Honolulu, Jason Furtado and Jeffrey Furtado of Hilo; sisters, Susan Duarte of Sunnyvale, Calif., Brenda Viquelia of Lanai and Michelle Hasegawa of Hanapepe, Kauai; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Florencio Bartolome

Florencio Marcos Bartolome, 79, of Las Vegas, died Nov. 28, 2019, at the St. Rose Dominican Hospital. Born Jan. 16, 1940, in Banna, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a retired proprietor and agriculture farmer.

Friends may call 6-7 p.m. Jan. 9 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel for a 7 p.m. wake service. Friends may call again from 9-10 a.m. Jan. 10 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10 a.m. celebration of Mass. Casual attire, flowers and lei are welcomed. Burial at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section.

He is survived by wife, Leticia Bartolome of Las Vegas; daughters, Lynn (Anthony) Halili, Marilyn Bartolome and Glee Bartolome of Las Vegas; son, Reyanldo (Dena) Bartolome of Pahoa; brother, Daniel Bartolome of Pahoa; sister-in-law; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kenneth Kemp

Kenneth “Kenn” Douglas Kemp, 70, of Pahoa, died Dec. 20, 2019, at his residence. Born in Sacramento, he was a civil engineer for the city of West Linn, Ore., and a veteran of the USMC.

Sydney Kraul, Jr.

Sydney “Syd” Alexander Kraul, Jr., 74, of Kailua-Kona, died Dec. 23, 2019, at his residence. Born Feb. 17, 1945, in Seattle, he was an aquaculture researcher and owner of Pacific Planktonics, member of World Aquaculture Society and a US Navy veteran.

He is survived by wife, Lois Diane Kraul of Kailua-Kona; stepmother, Dora Kraul of Hilo; stepsister, Pamela Fern of Honolulu; stepbrother, Jonathan Rickard of California; hanai sister, Audrey Wilson of Volcano; numerous friends and cousins.

Matthew Bumanglag

Matthew “Bumaz” Brandon Garcia Bumanglag, 42, of North Kohala, died Oct. 25, 2019, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Sept. 12, 1977, in Honolulu, he was mason, chef and fisherman.
