Josephine Racho

Mrs. Josephine “Pingping” Omandam Racho, 92, of Waikoloa, died Jan.3, 2020, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu on August 14, 1927, she was a retired sales clerk for City Mill.

Mass was held Jan. 13 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hilo. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Josephine Racho be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 43 Kapiolani St, Hilo 96720.

She is survived by her sons, Cering (Villa) Duhaylongsod of Waikoloa, Stanley (Joyce) Suan of Waipahu, Oahu, Marcel (Felix) Bonito of Philippines; daughters, Tessie Suan of San Antonio, Texas, and Dale (Jim) Bayone of Warner Robins, Ga.; half-sister, Senia Erberhardt of Ewa Beach, Oahu; 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kay Kaneko

Mrs. Kay Uno Kaneko, 87, of Holualoa, died Oct. 8, 2019 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born in Los Angeles, California on Oct. 7, 1932, she was a retired home care registered nurse, founding member of the Donkey Mill Center, member of the Kona Outdoor Circle, Japanese American Citizens League, Kona Association for Family and Community Education, American Red Cross, UGSF Nursing Alumni Association, College Women’s Association of Japan, Foreign Nurses Association in Japan, and Hawaii Association for Family and Community Education, among others.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 26 at the Kona Imin Center in Holualoa. The family requests casual attire and no flowers.

She is survived by her son, Kris Kaneko of Holualoa; daughters, Julie Kaneko Hall of Ventura, Calif., and Patricia (Pete) Strahler of Castle Rock, Colo.; five grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gregory Wolfe

Gregory Scott Wolfe, of Kailua-Kona, died on Dec. 26, 2019, in Kailua-Kona. Born Dec. 1, 1948, in Hamilton, Ohio, he grew up in Honolulu, served in the Navy and retired from Pearl Harbor Public Works Department and numerous jobs in Kona.

He is survived by spouse, Margie Gillman-Wolfe; daughter, Natanya Wolfe of Vancouver, Wash.; sisters, Deborah Wolfe of Irving, Texas; Rochelle Wolfe of Honolulu; brothers George (Shelly) Wolfe of Germantown, Maryland; John (Korinna) Wolfe of Portland, Ore., and many nieces and nephews.

Lorenzo Mangaoang

Lorenzo Bacungan Mangaoang, 83, of Pahoa, died Jan. 4, 2020, at Linda Ganir Care Home in Kailua-Kona. Born Sept. 7, 1936, in Aringay, La Union, Philippines, he was a nursery worker for Pacific Floral Resources and also was a member of the Keaau Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Friends may call10:30-11 a.m. Jan. 14 at Keaau Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Rosary is at 11 a.m., celebration of Mass at 11:30 a.m. Burial at Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section) is at 1:15 p.m. Casual attire.

He is survived by wife, Gloria Mangaoang of Pahoa; sons, Larry (Naomi) Mangaoang of Houston, Texas and Peter (Nicole) Mangaoang of Kona; daughters, Ayrine (Allan) Simeon of Keaau and Georgina (Richard) McKinney of Houston; brother, Rizalino (Florentina) Mangaoang of Keaau; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous aunts and cousins.

Moses Wentworth, III

Moses Moke Wentworth, III, 59, of Kailua-Kona, died Jan. 1, 2020 at Life Care Center of Kona. Born April 10, 1960, in Kealakekua, he was a laborer and rancher.
