Gloria Crabtree

Gloria Lorraine Crabtree, 93, of Keaau, died Dec. 4, 2019, at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Watts, Calif., she was a retired office clerk for McDonnell Douglas and a member of Grace Baptist Church in Hilo.

A celebration of her life will take place at 3 p.m. Jan. 18 at Grace Baptist Church in Hilo. Casual attire.

She is survived by daughter, Lynn Jackson of Edmonds, Wash.; sisters, Sylvia Swartt of Riverside, Calif., Marsha Perkins of Riverside, Calif.; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Calmentina Feliciano

Calmentina J. Feliciano, 67, of Pahoa, died Dec. 24, 2019. Born Feb.. 5, 1952, in Honolulu, she was a homemaker, matriarch and part of the Friends of Bob.

A celebration of life will be held 1 p.m. Jan. 19 at Onekahakaha Beach Park Hilo, pavilion 4 (Big Pavilion). Casual attire.

Calmentina is survived by husband, Leonard Feliciano Sr. of Pahoa; sons, Leonard (Dana) Feliciano Jr. of Pahoa, Greggory (Kristin) Feliciano of Pahoa, Joshua Feliciano of Pahoa; stepson, Phillip (Helena) Diones of Oahu; predeceased daughter, Tanya Feliciano-Enos; hanai daughters, Taysha Feliciano of Pahoa, Tejanie Jean Feliciano-Enos of Pahoa; brother, Joseph Pedro of Maui; sister, Trina DeMotta of Hilo; 11 grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins.

Masaru Matsumura

Mr. Masaru Matsumura, 87, of Hilo, died Jan. 6, 2020 in the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Facility. Born Jan. 19, 1932, in Hilo, he was retired from the State of Hawaii as a business manager at Hilo Hospital.

Visitation will be held 9-10 a.m. Jan. 19 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo. Memorial service will begin at 10. Casual attire is requested. No koden.

He is survived by daughter, Dale (Robert) Wall of Kailua-Kona; sister, Shizuko Shimazu of Hilo; one sister-in-law; and a niece.

Ronald Nahakuelua

Ronald Nahakuelua, 71, of Hilo, died Dec. 16, 2019, at his residence. Born Jan. 15, 1948, in South Hilo, he was a retired utility manager for the Office of Mauna Kea Management, veteran in the US Navy during the Vietnam Conflict and a member of the Laupahoehoe Congregational Church in Laupahoehoe.

Friends may call 4-6 p.m. Jan. 18 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel for a 6 p.m. memorial service. A church service will be 10 a.m. Jan. 19 at the Laupahoehoe Congregational Church. An urn committal will be 9 a.m. Jan. 21 at the East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 Columbarium (Niche) with military honors. Casual attire, flowers and lei welcomed.

He is survived by son, Ronald “Tubbs” (Trisha Savella) Nahakuelua, Jr. of Pahoa; brothers, David Nahakuelua, Jr. of Kona, Lawrence (Elise Nakamura) Nahakuelua and Roland Nahakuelua of Hilo; sisters, Gertrude “Leilani” Sato of Laupahoehoe, Edna (Kelen) Izumi, Vivian Nahakuelua and Elaine (Eric) Kahihikolo of Kailua-Kona, Irene Nahakuelua and Thelma (Walter) Spencer of Hilo, Lynn (Bones Licoan) Nahakuelua of Waimea, Hawaii; stepsons, Gregorio “Bobo” Agliam of Keaau, Darrell Agliam of Hilo, Royden Agliam and Terrance Agliam of Ainaloa; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Anthony Aguinaldo

Anthony “Duke” Aguinaldo, 70, of Hilo, died Dec. 27, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Jan. 17, 1949, in Pepeekeo; he was a retired school bus driver for Honomu Bus Service and Bragado Bus Service. He also was a member of the Honomu Good Shephard Mission Catholic Church.

Friends may call 9-10 a.m. Jan. 17 at the Honomu Good Shepherd Mission Catholic Church in Honomu for a 10 a.m. celebration of Mass. Casual attire. Private urn committal at a later date.

He is survived son, Regan Okano of Hilo; brother, Lawrence (Lani) Aguinaldo of Hilo; one sister-in-law; one brother-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Edgar Aurelio

Edgar Quimoyog Aurelio, 56, of Pahala, died Dec. 11, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born May 14, 1963, in Banna Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a heavy equipment operator for a macadamia nut company in Pahala.

Family will receive your condolences Jan. 17 at the Aurelio residence, 96-3171 Pakalana St. in Pahala. Visitation at 5 p.m. for an all night vigil. Friends may call 8-10 a.m. Jan. 18 at the Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. celebration. Casual attire, flowers and lei are welcomed. Burial at the Pahala Catholic Church Cemetery.

Josephine Racho

Mrs. Josephine “Pingping” Omandam Racho, 92, of Waikoloa, died Jan. 3, 2020 at Kona Community Hospital. Born Aug. 14, 1927, in Honolulu, she was a retired sales clerk for City Mill.

Visitation and Mass was Jan. 13 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hilo. Burial was at Alae Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Josephine Racho be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 43 Kapiolani St., Hilo, HI 96720.

She is survived by sons, Cering (Villa) Duhaylongsod of Waikoloa, Stanley (Joyce) Suan of Waipahu, Oahu and Marcel (Felix) Bonito of Philippines; daughters, Tessie Suan of San Antonio, and Dale (Jim) Bayone of Warner Robins, Ga; stepmother, Senia Erberhardt of Ewa Beach, Oahu; brothers, Ismael (Olly) Omandam, Jr. of Las Vegas and Pacquito Omandam of Dumagete City, Philippines; sister, Julita Jaictin of Honolulu, Oahu; half-brother, Hermongenes Omandam, Jr. of Ewa Beach, Oahu; half-sister, Lillian Gurr of Ewa Beach, Oahu; 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ruby Javar

Ruby Acosta Javar, 79, of Pahala, died Jan. 7, 2020, in Kansas. Born Sept. 25, 1940, in San Nicolas, Pangasinan, Philippines, he was a retired utility operator for the former Pahala Sugar Plantation. He also was a member of the Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Friends may call 8-10 a.m. Jan. 17 at Naalehu Sacred Heart Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. celebration of Mass. Burial at Naalehu County Cemetery. Casual attire.

He is survived by wife, Amy Javar of Pahala; daughter, Saidalyn Javar (Noel) Deguzman of Philippines; son, Danmar Javar of Philippines; brothers, Reynaldo (Josephine) Javar of Naalehu and Leonardo Javar of Philippines; sisters, Letecia Javar (Rudolpho) Duran and Donna Javar (Arturo) Baluyot of California, Linda Javar-Meadows of Kansas; two grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
