Rotary Club of Kona Sunrise plants another Peace Pole

The Rotary Club of Kona Sunrise planted a “Peace Pole” at the Old Kona Airport Park Maka’eo Jogging / Walking Path on Saturday. It joins the four Peace Poles the club has already planted around West Hawaii. In recognition of the club’s efforts of promoting peace through service and furthering the cause of world peace, the Rotary International (RI) Rotarian Action Group for Peace has formally recognized Rotary Club of Kona Sunrise as a “Peacebuilder Club” with a certificate presented on Jan. 6. The club joins the many other RI Peacebuilder Clubs already in existence worldwide.

Kiwanis Club creates Hawaii Prep scholarship

The Kiwanis Club of Kailua-Kona is pleased to announce the establishment of a $1,000 scholarship to an eligible Hawaii Preparatory Academy senior. Applicants must be a graduating senior at HPA with a 2.5 minimum GPA and a member of good standing in the HPA Key Club. Applications are available from the HPA Key Club Advisor, Lincoln Tice. The applications must be received by March 1, 2020 to the address listed on the form. Questions may be directed to the Key Club advisor.
