Big Island police have identified a man who died Jan. 22 after being struck by a motor vehicle that fled the scene on Highway 137 in Keaau.

The 45-year-old man has been identified as Benito Charles Segura III, of Vancouver British Columbia, Canada, according to a Tuesday morning press release issued by the Hawaii Police Department.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or may have any information relative to the identity of the driver responsible, should contact Officer Jared Cabatu of the Area I Traffic Enforcement Unit at 961-2339.
