Richard Stehley

Richard “Dick” Dale Stehley, 82, of Kailua-Kona, died Jan. 22, 2020, at his residence. Born July 22, 1937 in Rochester, Minnesota, he was a retired salesman for IBM and Trimin Systems.

Private services to be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice of Kona, PO Box 4130, Kailua-Kona, HI 96745.

He is survived by wife, Beverly Stehley of Kailua-Kona; children, Theresa (Bruce) Scottberg of Illinois, Stephen (Isabelle) Stehley of California, Gregg Stehley of Michigan, Sharon Tsoumas, Sandra Lampley both of Tennessee; brother, Jerry (Bonnie) Stehley of Minnesota; sister, Sharon Wilusz of Connecticut; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Marvin Medeiros

Marvin Kalani Medeiros, of Kailua-Kona, died Dec. 13, 2019 at Life Care Center of Kona. Born March 22, 1955, in Kaohe, South Kona, he was a buildings grounds maintenance man at Hawaii Community College in Kealakekua and Palamanui Community College in Kailua-Kona, member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church; a ranch hand at Hoomau Ranch, Kaimalino Ranch, and Parker Ranch; a yard maintenance man at the Regency at Hualalai, and a bartender at the former Kona Hilton Hotel and the former Kona Surf Hotel.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. Feb. 8 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Honaunau for an 11 a.m. memorial service. The family requests casual attire.

He is survived by hanai son, Patrick (Monique Gouveia) Enos Jr., of Keokea; brothers, Clarence (Shirley) Medeiros and Jesse (Tammy) Medeiros of Keokea; sisters, Rosemary Medeiros of Las Vegas, Clarice Medeiros of Honalo, Dorothy Puaala; one hanai granddaughter; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Peter Burnett

Peter Craig Burnett, 61, of Waimea, died Aug. 29, 2019, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born Nov. 6, 1957 in Los Angeles, he was an administrative counselor and member of New Hope Waimea.

Cecilia Brooks

Cecilia Nina Brooks, 89, of Keaau, died Nov. 8, 2019, at her residence. Born in Mt. Hood, Oregon, she was a retired warranty clerk.

She is survived by son, Charles (Barbara) Anderson of Arkansas; daughters, LeeAnn (Alan) Biddix of Keaau, Cheryl Devers of Colorado; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

John Middlesworth

John Michael “Mike” Middlesworth, 81, of Hilo, died Jan. 14, 2020 at Hilo Medical Center. Born May 26, 1938, in El Paso, Texas, he worked for newspapers in Illinois, Indiana and Hawaii, U.S. Army veteran, member of the Hawaii Judicial Selection Commission, former board member of the East Hawaii Regional Board of Hawaii Health Systems Corporation, and a consultant on newspaper technology for papers around the globe.

Private services will be held.

He is survived by wife, Barbara Hastings of Hilo; daughters, Andrea (Heath) Farleigh of Kailua (Oahu) and Cara Middlesworth of Kailua (Oahu); son, Chad (Akiko) Middlesworth of Waikiki; four grandchildren.
