Suspects sought in fruit theft

Hawaii Island police are investigating theft theft of durian and other fruits from a property in Hilo.

Around 9:15 p.m. Feb. 1, according to the Hawaii Police Department, two unknown males entered a facility on Stainback Highway without permission, and removed 18 durian fruit and various other fruit from the property. The stolen fruit was valued at approximately $1,000.

Anyone with information regarding this incident, or who may have information on the identity of the two males, should call the department’s nonemergency line at 935-3311.
