The ninth annual Heiva I Hawaii celebration got underway Saturday at Hale Halawai with the Tahitian Dance Competition.
Dancers from around the island competed in individual Tamahine, Tamaroa, Vahine and Tane age group divisions.
The competition continued Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with overall soloist and group competition.
Polynesian artisans, crafters and food vendors are also featured at this family-friendly free event.
