Woodson Woods III

Woodson Kidder Woods III, 88, of Waimea died Feb. 14, 2020, at his residence. Born in St. Louis, he was U.S. Navy Korean War veteran, entrepreneur of Royal Hawaiian Air Service, Mauna Kea Motors, Hawaii Trails, The Waimea Village Inn, and Pohakea Ranch in Hawaii and Aero Meridian Productions and Carefree Airport in Arizona, builder of the tall ship Lynx and founder of The Lynx Educational Foundation.

Friends may call at 1 p.m. March 1 at Davies Memorial Chapel at Hawaii Preparatory Academy. In lieu of flowers, donations be made to North Hawaii Hospice or to the Woodson K. Woods IV Memorial Scholarship Fund at HPA.

He is survived by wife, Alison Montag Woods; sons, Chris (Kate), of Los Angeles, Jeffrey (Nanette) of San Diego, and Scott (Annie) of Tiburon, CA; daughters, Margie of Los Angeles, Katie (Silvia) of Waimea and Sarah (Ben) of Carbondale, CO; brother Randy (Fiona) of St. Louis; stepson, Tyler Youngblood of Bogota, Colombia; stepdaughter, Emily (Jon) Roberts of Waimea; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Michiyo Echle

Michiyo Go Echle, 79, of Kailua-Kona, died Feb. 17, 2020, at her residence. Born Dec. 10, 1940 in Tokyo, she was a homemaker, and an Ikebana and Chinese brush painting artist.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. March 6 at St. Michael The Archangel Church for a 9:30 a.m. Mass. Refreshments to follow. She is survived by husband, James Echle of Kailua-Kona; son, Tatsuji (Kaori) Echle of Japan; brothers, Yoshiki (Yoshiko) Go of Japan, Eiji (Kazuko) Go, Kunio (Kathy) Go all of California; Haruo (Rumiko) Go of Japan; grandson, Takuya Echle of Japan.

Leslie Bell

Leslie Ann Yuki Bell, 71, of Waimea, died Feb. 1, 2020, at her residence. Born on Oahu, she was a retired executive secretary and human resource director for Lokahi Treatment Centers, and member of Imiola Congregational Church and Waimea Hawaiian Civic Club.

Friends may call 9-11 a.m. Feb. 29 at Imiola Congregational Church located in Waimea for an 11 a.m. celebration of life. Burial to follow at church cemetery. Casual attire.

She is survived by husband, Robert Bell Sr. of Waimea; son, Matthew (Kuuipo) Bell of Waimea; daughters, Kimberly (Scott) Keolanui of Waimea, and Gwendolyn (Ira) Earll and Blossom Bell, all of Oahu; brother, Stanford James Ornellas of Oahu; hanai sisters, Sharon Bolosan and Junette (Manuel) Buenconsejo, all of Oahu; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Leonard Case

Leonard Charles Case, 87, of Waimea died Oct. 5, 2019, at the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in North Kohala, he was an animal caretaker, veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.

Friends may call 9-11 a.m. March 14 at Imiola Congregational Church in Waimea for an 11 a.m. celebration of life. Casual attire.

He is survived by sons, Lyle Case and Cid Case, both of Kohala, and Leonard Case II and Hana (Sharlene Ku) Camara, all of Waimea, and Lyon (Maricel) Case of Kurtistown; daughter, Lyna (Darryl) Delatorre of Mountain View; brothers, Richard (Camille) Case, William (Delma) Case, Donald (Iwalani) Case, Lloyd (Keomailani) Case and Norman Case of Waimea; sister, Piilani Frazier of Oahu; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
