Old Kona Airport Park is a mess

I’m a grandma of grandchildren in sports and believe I’m speaking for all sports families in Kona.

Old A is a mess.

It is completely overrun with homeless people and their trash. They are everywhere with many filthy encampments. Families won’t use the bathrooms because they are disgusting and certainly won’t let their toddlers stray.

Last weekend, our young baseball team had the misfortune of enduring a continual tirade of obscenities aimed at the children and parents by a homeless person who had taken up residency on a picnic bench behind the field.

How much worse does this homeless situation have to continue before the county or law enforcement does something?

Just remember this

Time after time, I’ve read letters to the editor lamenting how unfair, people, the press, the Senators, or the House members are being toward “The President of the United States.” How wrong it is to be disrespectful of the man holding this great office. Poor Donald J. Trump. So unfairly treated. Oh, I respected Barack H. Obama while he was in office, why can’t we show Trump the same respect.

What they fail to realize is that we are showing Trump the same respect that Obama was shown while he was in office, maybe even more so. While they ramble off the usual Fox Faux News litany of complaints against the Democrats in office or those running, they obviously have forgotten about a number of things that Obama had to endure. Remember the Republican shouting out “You Lie!” during Obama’s State of the Union Address to the joint session? No? The Orange County Register’s political cartoon of Obama stealing a watermelon? No? The numerous effigies that were hung throughout the southern states? The many racial slurs used to describe him. No? I didn’t think so.

The next time you think that Trump is getting no respect just remember this. Obama never got convicted of fraud for cheating students out of money in a fake business college. Obama never hired relatives and placed them into key positions in the government. Obama never was accused of violations of the emoluments act. Obama opened up his tax returns. Obama was respected by our allies around the world. Something that cannot ever be said for Trump.
