Marie Fresques

Marie Isabel Fresques, 95, of Hilo, died Feb. 17, 2020 at Hawaii Care Choices. Born Nov. 5, 1924, in Colorado, she was a retired administrator for the Department of Unemployment and a U.S. Women’s Army Corps veteran.

Feinds may call at noon March 13 at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 for a service with military honors. Casual attire.

She is survived by sister, Anna Martinez of Denver, Colorado; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Lewis Cooper

Lewis Cooper, 56, of Haskell County, Texas, and formerly of Kona, died Sept. 17, 2019, in Texas. Born March 17, 1963, in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, he was a carpenter who worked as a cabinet maker for Roy Lambrecht in Kona,

Friends may call at 6 p.m. March 17 at Pahoehoe Beach Park for a service.

He is survived by mother, Loretta Cooper-Gunn; sisters, Darla Robertson, Sharon Robinson, and Patricia Yamashita; brother, John Jr.; step-mom, Terrie Cooper; half sister, Jennifer Cooper; and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Uriah Dombrowski

Uriah Dombrowski, 39, of Naalehu, died Feb. 17, 2020 at Ka‘u Hospital. Born Jan. 1, 1981, in California, he owned and operated a landscaping construction business in both Hawaii and on the mainland.

Private services held.

He is survived by wife, Brieann Dombrowski; father, Anthony Dombrowski; mother, Connie Close; brothers, Lila Dombrowski and Gita Dombrowski; sister, Elizabeth Unti; grandfather, Ruben Catlin; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lillian Waters

Lillian Yuriko Waters, 90, of Hilo died Feb. 20, 2020, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Kona, she was a retired social worker for the State of Hawaii, Department of Social Services and an educational assistant at Hilo Union Elementary School.

Private services held.

She is survived by sons, William Waters of San Diego and Jonah (Jean) Waters of Hilo; daughter, Kehaulani (Bob) Vogel of Tacoma, Washington; sisters, Sumako Murakani of Honolulu, and Reiko (Ben) Masutomi and Jean Marciel, all of Kaneohe, Oahu; brother, Gerald (Sandy) Kinro of Kaneohe; six grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard Niimi

Richard Michio Niimi, 75, of Mountain View, died Feb. 16, 2020, at home. Born Sept. 15, 1944, in Mountain View, he was a retired co-owner for Hawaiian Flower Exports, skills trainer for The Institute for Family Enrichment, U.S. Army Dominican Republic Conflict veteran, 82nd Airborne and member of Saint Theresa Catholic Church and Disabled American Veterans.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. March 13 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 5 p.m. service. Friends may also call at 9 a.m. March 16 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 for a graveside urn committal service. Casual attire.

He is survived by wife, Caroline Niimi of Mountain View; daughters, Carleen (Damon Flood) Niimi of Kaneohe, Oahu, Cristi (James Howard David II) David and Cari (Cy Miramontes) Niimi of Mountain View; brother, Robert (Cynthia) Niimi of Kurtistown; sister, Pearl (Eugene) Worley of Irvine, Calif.; step-sister, Jasmine Thompson of Mountain View; step-brother, James (Nora) Thompson of Reston, Va.; eight grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
