Composer, producer, songwriter, and Grammy award-winning musician Charles Brotman will perform at the Kahilu Theatre for an intimate evening in the Mike Luce Studio at 7 p.m. March 27 in Waimea.

Brotman is a Grammy award-winning artist whose music is heard worldwide via film, TV, advertising, and streaming. He feels that music creation is a way of life. It means constantly learning, exploring, engaging with others. Some say that it may be the ultimate Rubik’s cube; it is an endless pursuit that requires an insatiable curiosity and love of the art.

A graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a master’s degree in music, Brotman taught classical guitar there for nine years. He a co-founder of the recording label Palm Records, and also the president of the Hawaii Songwriting Festival that takes place each year on the Kohala Coast. His first two solo albums received critical acclaim and he is known as a staple of the Hawaiian music scene.

Luce Unplugged is part of a series that highlights Hawaii artists in an intimate, more private setting.
