Bank of Hawaii will be temporarily closing select branch locations across the state and the West Pacific region in light of the recent stay-at-home/work-at-home order for the state of Hawaii.

“Temporarily streamlining our branch operations will help Bank of Hawaii sustain resources, follow social distancing recommendations, and provide the best possible service to our customers during this challenging time,” said Chairman, President and CEO Peter Ho.

Out of its 68 branches, 28 will remain open across Hawaii and the West Pacific Region. Effective Thursday, just three Big Island branches will remain open: Kailua-Kona, Waimea and Hilo (Kaikoo).

General banking hours will be Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The bank will open at 9 a.m. for kupuna (elderly) and people most at risk. The three Big Island branches will also be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Bank of Hawaii said Tuesday that it will continue to assess branches and inform the public should additional branches close due a COVID-19-related incident or other unforeseen circumstances, such as insufficient staffing levels.

At this time, BOH’s Call Center operations remain open to assist customers and can be reached at (808) 643-3888. Should this change, the bank said it will notify customers.

Also Tuesday, Central Pacific Bank announced no planned closures for Hawaii Island branches.
