Betty Aburamen

Betty Sakayo Aburamen, 89, of Hilo, died March 22, 2020, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born Sept. 24, 1930, in Hilo, she was the retired owner for Blane’s Drive Inn and member of Hilo Higashi Hongwanji Mission.

Private services.

She is survived by daughters, Phyllis (Kevin) Takei and Cathy (Lance) Miyasato of Hilo; brothers and sisters; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, nieces and nephews.

Doris Ching

Doris Kwai Lan Ching, 87, of Hilo, died Feb. 27, 2020, at the Life Care Center of Hilo. She was born in Hilo and was a retired office manager and accountant with the Hawaii County Fire Department, and a member of the United Community Church.

Private services held. No koden (monetary donations).

Survived by numerous cousins.

Diana Hultberg

Diana Hultberg, 69, of Pahala, died March 30, 2020.

No services.

No Known family members. Survivors are asked to call Ballard Family Mortuary Hilo, 935-8445.

Sharon Kekela

Sharon Nalani Kekela, 57, of Papaikou, died March 27, 2020 at home. Born Oct. 7, 1962, in Hilo, she was a preschool teacher’s aide for Papaikou Hongwanji Mission, Good Years Educational Day Care Center, and Private Child Day Care. She was also a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou.

Private burial will be attended by immediate family.

Survived by sisters, Debra (Leonard) Luiz of Papaikou and Julie (Allan) Kainoa of Keaau; brothers Paul (Alicia) Kekela of Hilo, Karl (Kimi) Kekela of Keaau, and Michael (Rhonda) Kekela of Vernal, Utah; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
