Clifford Marler

Clifford Preston Marler, 58, of Hilo, died March 15, 2020, at Pohai Malama Hospice. Born in San Diego, CA, on July 10, 1961.

Services will be held a a later date.

He is survived by his daughters, Rachel Marler of Kailua-Kona, Amanda Marler and Paula Wigzell of Kailua-Kona; son, Ashton Kamahele of Hilo; stepson, Anthony Kamahele of Hilo; mother, Norma Marler of San Diego, CA; brothers, Larry (Priscilla) Marler and Doyle Marler; sister, Rose (Edward) Rico, all of San Diego, CA; several nieces and nephews.

Sarah Angel

Sarah Agnes Angel, 99, of Kailua-Kona, died April 21, 2020, in Kailua-Kona. Born Dec. 18, 1920, in Michigan, she served in the U.S. Army and worked as a Registered Nurse.

She is survived by sons Jack (Audrey) Angel of Durham, CA; Sam (Cassie) Angel of Greenville, CA; daughters, Judy (Tom) Migliori of Kailua-Kona; Patty (Paul) Lauffer of Chico, California; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren

Audrey Mizokami

Audrey Haruko Mizokami, 101, of Kailua-Kona, died April 18, 2020, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born in Carlsbad, CA, on April 18, 1919, she was a retired legal secretary.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol (Michael Cron) Langevin of Kailua-Kona, and Robin (Steve) McNamara of Chino Valley, AZ; two grandchildren.

Richard Kirkland

Richard William Kirkland, 75, of Hilo, died April 4, 2020. He was born on April 18, 1944 in Oregon. He was self-employed as a handyman. He also worked for the Kauai Sugar Co.

Private services held.

Richard is survived by partner Glory Kirkland; daughter Auralie Kirkland; step-daughter Rosalie Nordmeier; six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Siham Tamimi

Siham Yusuf Tamimi, 83, of Hilo, died April 5, 2020. She was born on Jan. 22, 1937, in Irtah, Palestine. She was a teacher, an anthropologist, taught cross-stitch at HCC, and quilted at the Kamana Center in Hilo.

Private services held.

She is survived by husband Yusuf Tamimi; sons Nimr (Shannon) Tamimi of Hilo, Malik Tamimi of San Diego; daughter Laila (Sharif) Jayyousi of Hawaiian Pardise Park; three grandchildren.

August Ballo

August A. Ballo, 70, of Pahala, died April 10, 2020 at Hilo Medical Center. Born Aug. 21, 1949, in Pahala; he was a retired civil engineer and machinist for Ka’u Agribusiness, a veteran of the US Marine Corps and Purple Heart recipient, and a member of the Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Private service.

He is survived by daughters, Melanie Chandler of Las Vegas, and Nyree Ballo of Hilo; son, Joel Ballo of Hilo; brothers, Santiago Ballio of Honolulu, Raymond Ballio and Stanley Ballo of Pahala, Herminio Ballio of San Francisco, Ernesto Ballo of Hilo, Jose Ballio of Waimea; sister, Beverly (Allan) Cortez of Paradise Park; a sister in-law; nine grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
