Jeriel Wong Yuen

Jeriel Tracy Kekaulike Wong Yuen, 35, of Kailua-Kona, died March 28, 2020 at Kona Community Hospital. Born March 19, 1985, in Kealakekua, he was a cargo supervisor contracted by Aloha Contract Services and provided assistance for Delta, American, Japan and Kalitta cargo planes.

He is survived by parents, Vicky and Chauncey Wong Yuen of Kailua-Kona; brother, Chauncey Wong Yuen Jr. of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Larissa (Dolly) Eppenauer of Ravensdale, WA, and Melissa Wong Yuen of Kailua-Kona; a niece and nephew; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

James Hansel

James Allen Hansel, 78, of Kailua-Kona, died April 4, 2020, at his residence. Born Dec. 20, 1941, in Wellington, Kansas, he was the original owner of Quinn’s Restaurant in Kailua-Kona and a U.S. Navy veteran.

No services planned.

He is survived by daughter, Christina Hansel of Kailua-Kona; son, Marcus (Desiree) Hansel of Henderson, NV; brothers, Thomas (Deborah Montrond) Hansel of Kealia; sister, Shelly Hansel of Wellington, Kansas; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Sheila Vicente

Sheila Ann Vicente, 59, of Honokaa, died April 14, 2020 at home. Born Aug. 21, 1960, in Honokaa, she was a direct service worker for Arc of Kona and she also was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa.

Services will be held at a later date.

She is survived by husband, Larry Vicente of Honokaa; son, Larson Vicente of Honokaa; daughter, Vanna Vicente of Honokaa; five grandchildren; step-daughters, Sabrina Vicente and Larnette Vicente of Hilo; sisters, Jo Ann (Milton) Lau Kong of Kukuihaele, and Margo Godbehere of Kapaa, Kauai; brother, Russel (Serena) Botelho Sr. of of Hilo; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Michael Brown

Michael “Mike” Morgan Brown, 74, of Waimea, died April 20, 2020, at his residence. Born April 24, 1945, in Wenatchee, Washington, he was a retired engineer for Four Seasons at Hualalai and was a U.S. Navy Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by wife, Ardis Hoppy Brown of Waimea; sisters, Wendy Brown, Kerri (James) Uecker all of Washington; stepchildren, Colette (Roy) Tyau of Waimea, John (Jessie) Medeiros Jr. of Washington, Chad (Malia Makanani) Medeiros of Kauai; six grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Allie Forbes

Allie S. Forbes, 89, of Hilo, died April 8, 2020. Born in Cleveland, she was a retired secretary for Hamakua Sugar Co. and also worked at Kamehameha Schools and the County of Hawaii, and was a member of the Hilo United Methodist Church.

She is survived by children, Kim (Diana) Lorch of Las Vegas NV, Robin Yoko Racoma of Kurtistown, Wendy (Rick) Turk of Eureka CA, and Kerry Lorch of Redwood City CA, Lee Ann (Gayland) Wohlgemuth of Anchorage AK, and Jeannie (Rob) Hanson of Auburn WA; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
