Fire officials are investigating the cause of a Wednesday evening structure fire in Puna.

Responding to the 8:53 p.m. report, firefighters arrived at 14-3389 Lehua Road in Nanawale Estates to find a structure engulfed in flames, according to the Hawaii Fire Department. A vehicle inside the garage was also on fire.

The 12-by-20-foot unpermitted structure was deemed a complete loss, according to the department.

All occupants were accounted for, according to the department. A neighbor reported that the resident of the structure had been “playing with fire.”
