Charles Kamimura

Charles “Chuck” Seikin Kamimura, 89, of Hilo, died May 4, 2020, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Aug. 23, 1930, in Honolulu, he was a former principal at Waimea Elementary School in Kamuela, a retired principal of Kaumana Elementary School and tour director for Jackie’s Travel.

Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.

He is survived by wife, Hatsue Kamimura of Hilo; brother, Eugene Kamimura of Honolulu; sister, Alice (Fidel) Salcido of Honolulu; nieces and nephews.

Robert Thomas III

Robert Nohoikaiu Thomas III, 58, of Halawa, North Kahala, died May 15, 2020. He was born on Feb. 6, 1962 in Kona. He worked at the Brantley Center, with the community Rehabilitation Program.

Services to be announced at a later date.

Robert is survived by aunties Winona Von Elsner of Oahu, Patracia Fajardo of Oahu, Mae Wooters of Arizona, Kalei Thomas of California; cousins Lisa Nahuina of Hawaii, Lynette Von Elsner of Oahu, Ken Von Elsner of Hawaii, Tracy and Larry Fajardo of Oahu, Linda Mae Lehtinen of Arizona, Van Lane Thomas of California; Numerous nieces and nephews.

Teruka Kaneshiro

Teruko “Terry” Kaneshiro, 89, of Kapaau, Hawaii, died May 11, 2020 at Life Care Center of Kona. Born in Kohala on Jan. 24, 1931, she was a room maid at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, a cafeteria worker at the Halaula Elementary School, and member of the Kohala Okinawan Club and the Kohala Senior Citizens Club.

Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts).

She is survived by her daughters, Sally Kaneshiro of Halawa, Kohala and Jan Kaneshiro of Kailua-Kona; sons, Dennis (Evelyn) Kaneshiro of Halawa, Kohala and Charles (Dale) Kaneshiro of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Yoshiyuki Sugata and Kakumi (Anna) Sugata of Hilo, Susumu (Adeline) Sugata of Honokaa; a sister-in-law; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Takao Kotaku

Takao Kotaku, 90, of Captain Cook, died at Rosalinda’s Care Home. Born in Kealakekua on Jan. 6, 1930, he was a supervisor for DAGS, and a member of Hinds Kumiai and Kona Hongwanji Shinwa Kai.

Private services will be held at a later date.

He is survived by his brothers, Allen (Fumie) Katoku of Honolulu, Francis Katoku and Gary Katoku of Captain Cook; sisters, Sylvia Hayase and Evelyn (Harold) Tasaka of Oahu; a sister-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
