Macy’s will reopen its two remaining Big Island stores at 11 a.m. today, the company announced Friday.
The stores in Kailua-Kona and at Prince Kuhio Plaza in Hilo will reopen for in-store shopping, curbside delivery and in-store pickup services. The two stores are among 11 reopening across the state for the Memorial Day weekend.
“We are ready to welcome our customers back to Macy’s stores in Hawaii,” said Marc Mastronardi, chief stores officer at Macy’s, in a press release. “We’re introducing new precautions to keep your family and ours safe and are now offering curbside pick-up to make getting what you want quick and easy. Our teams have come together and supported each other and our communities throughout this challenging time, and we look forward to safely serving our customers whenever they are ready to shop.”
Macy’s said it has implemented safety measures for in-store customers that comply with the CDC guidance. Social distancing and face covering guidelines will also be in place to maintain 6 feet between all customers and employees.
The Kailua-Kona stores on Makala Boulevard has been shuttered since March when Macy’s temporarily closed its stores nationwide due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Macy’s said in a press release that it began reopening stores May 4 and as of Thursday approximately 190 locations were open in their full formats. The Hawaii stores are among an additional 80 Macy’s stores to open for Memorial Day weekend.
