DOH reports no new COVID-19 cases

Health officials reported no new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, leaving the number of cases statewide at 643.

Of those who’ve tested positive for the novel coronavirus since Feb. 28, 592 of those people have since recovered and been released from isolation, according to the Department of Health.

On Hawaii Island, 81 people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus since. Two people remained in isolation as of noon Monday according to the department. One person has required hospitalization.

Meanwhile, case totals held steady for Oahu, Maui and Kauai counties at 414, 116 and 20, respectively. Ten of the cases are Hawaii residents diagnosed outside the state of Hawaii.

Statewide, the coronavirus-related death toll stands at 17 — 11 on Oahu and six on Maui. Eighty-three people — or 13% — have been hospitalized.
