About 4:40 p.m. Saturday, Kona Patrol officers responded to a report of a stabbing at a Kailua-Kona residence. Upon arrival at the residence, officers made contact with a woman who had reportedly been assaulted with an edged weapon by her spouse, according to the Hawaii Police Department.

The victim was treated for her injuries at Kona Community Hospital and was later released, police said.

Detectives charged Ikhyun Chang with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree terroristic threatening and abuse of a family or household member. Bail was set at $54,000 pending an initial appearance slated Monday.
