The search concluded Friday evening for a 20-year-old North Kohala man last seen while freediving off Mahukona on Tuesday.

As of press-time, no sign of Malcolm Davis had been found, according to the Hawaii Fire Department, which was the only agency still searching on Friday. The department typically searches for about three days, but extended the mission by a day at the request of the family.

Davis was last seen Tuesday morning while spearfishing with seven friends, according to the Hawaii Fire Department and the U.S. Coast Guard.

While diving, Davis became separated from the group, according to the Coast Guard. After they were unable to find Davis, the friends returned to their car, drove inland, and tried to find cell service to report the situation shortly after 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Davis was last seen wearing white board shorts and black fins, according to the Coast Guard.
