Eight new cases of COVID-19 were reported by health officials on Monday, bringing Hawaii’s case total to 736.

The cases announced Monday were all on Oahu, according to the COVID-19 Joint Information Center. All are a result of community transmission of the virus and none are associated with travel. One new case is a resident of a skilled nursing facility while the others are spread geographically across Oahu.

Oahu’s tally now stands at 501, Maui’s at 120, Kauai’s at 21 and Hawaii Island at 82.

Of the cases statewide, 630 have since recovered and been released from isolation, including 81 of Hawaii County’s 82 cases to date. Ninety-one people have required hospitalization, including one person in Hawaii County.

The death toll from coronavirus-related illness remained at 17, with 11 on Oahu and six on Maui, since Feb. 28.
