Lynnette Ku-Gomes

Lynnette ‘Lei” Kaleiilimaokalani Ku-Gomes, 76, of Kawanui, died June 10, 2020 in Kealakekua. Born May 14, 1944, in Kawaihae, she worked as a caregiver.

Services will be held at a later date.

She is survived by husband, Thomas; son, Eli Ku Jr. of Wailuku; daughter Alice (Jay) Velez of Kawanui; brother Solomon Akau Jr. of Kaneohe, Oahu; sister Diane Hillen of Kawaihae; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins and brothers.

George Kahananui Jr.

George Kinoulu Kahananui, Jr., 67, of Kalaoa, died May 9, 2020, at Kona Community Hospital. Born July 30, 1952 in Kealakekua, he was a retired laborer and member of Hawaii Laborers Union Local 368.

He is survived by wife, Nohokula Kahananui of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Kahaunani (Brandon) Hernandez of Las Vegas; son, Kaninau (Chanderlynn) Kahananui of Kalaoa; brother, Aaron (Nadeen) Kahananui of Kailua-Kona; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Marcella Thomas

Marcella Lynn Thomas, 50, of Columbia, S.C., died June 2, 2020 in Columbia, S.C. Born July 8, 1969, in Honokaa, she was a supervisor for Richland County EMS.

Private services were held.

She is survived by mother, Norma Cornelio of Kapaau; brother, Glen (Moana) Cornelio of Kapaau; two nephews, one niece, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Constancia Basilio

Constancia Carlos Basilio, 83, of Pahoa, died April 15, 2020 at her residence. Born Sept. 3, 1936, in Solsona, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a retired baker for the Pahoa High School and she also was a member of the Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Friends may call at 6 p.m. June 26 for an all-night vigil at the family residence in Paho. Friends may also call at 10 a.m. June 27 at Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Mass. Burial to follow at the Pahoa Catholic Church Cemetery.

She is survived by daughters, Catherine (William) Julia of Pahoa, Marilyn (Howard) Aranaydo of Hawaiian Paradise Park; son, Nelson (Gina Manuel) Basilio of Hawaiian Paradise Park; four grandchildren; brothers, Julio (Pilar) Carlos of Pahoa, Melecio (Marcela) Carlos Sr. of Kona, Hawaii and Pedro (Juana) Carlos of Maui; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Roger Hansen

Roger Terrence Hansen, 74, of Waikoloa, died June 4, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Broome, N.Y. on Dec. 21, 1945. Inurnment services will be held at a later date at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery in Kailua-Kona.

Mary Alba, 89, of Keaau, died, May 20, 2020 in Keaau, Born Oct. 6, 1930, in Honolulu; she was a homemaker.

Private services and inurnment at a later date at Oahu Cemetery.

She is survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous brothers in-law and sisters in-law; numerous nephews and nieces.
