State health officials reported 16 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing Hawaii’s case total to 850.
Twelve of the new cases were among Oahu residents while the remaining four were Kauai residents. Of the cases, a dozen are adults and four are “pediatric cases,” according to the COVID-19 Joint Information Center.
All of the Kauai cases are related to a known cluster and seven of the Oahu cases are associated with known confirmed cases and the others are still under investigation, the center said.
With Thursday’s new cases, Oahu’s tally now stands at 595 and Kauai’s at 33. Maui’s is unchanged at 120.
Hawaii Island has reported 86 cases since Feb. 28. All but two of those persons who’ve tested positive for the novel coronavirus had been released from isolation as of noon Thursday.
Of the 850 Hawaii residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, 696 of those cases have recovered and been released from isolation. Statewide, 109 patients have required hospitalization, including two on Hawaii Island Seventeen people have died, including 11 on Oahu and six on Maui.
