Debra Fronda

Debra Lee “Ma Deb” Fronda, 64, of Hilo, died June 23, 2020, at home. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. July 11 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 6 p.m. service. Casual attire; no flowers.

She is survived by companion, Edward Souza of Hilo; son, Larry (Olivia) Fronda of Hilo; daughters, Cheryl (Kevin) Benevides and Patricia (Henry Hoomanawanui) Fronda of Hilo; mother, Dorothy Veriato of Hilo; brother, Craig Veriato of Hilo; sister, Marcele Moses of Hilo; former spouse, Larry Fronda of Hilo; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Bernice Canon

Bernice Waiola Canon, 83, of Keaau, died June 28, 2020 at Hawaii Care Choice. Born March 21, 1937, in Honokaa; she was a homemaker and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. July 18 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for an 11 a.m. service. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section).

She is survived by daughters, Henrilyn (Nani) Canon, Ramona (Victor Sr.) Lorenz, Lehuanani (Don) Hiilei of Hilo, Bernadette (David) Romm of New Jersey and Lorraine Brandt of Pennsylvania; son, Eric (Like) Canon of Hilo; brother, Ronald Travis of Las Vegas; sisters, Audrey Pakani of Hilo and Roberta Ochi of Utahl; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jackson Seay

Jackson Allen Seay, 58, of Milolii and also of Puako, died Feb. 13, 2020, at Kona Community Hospital. Born June 21, 1961 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, he was a carpenter, handyman, scuba diver, hiker and mountain bicyclist.

Private service to be held at a later date. Donations in his memory may be sent to Care Hawaii, 74-5620 Palani Road, Suite 105, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740.

He is survived by daughter, Candice Seay; son, Jackson Seay Jr., both of Colorado; and a granddaughter.
