Randolph Ioane

Randolph “Randy” Kahuwila Ioane, 65, of Hilo, died July 11, 2020, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was retired from the state Department of Agriculture, a former security guard for Securitas, a bass player and singer with the Ol’ School Band, Da Blahlas, and other bands, and a member of the Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church.

Friends may call at 11 a.m. Aug. 1 at the Ioane residence, 341 Todd Ave., in Hilo for services. Lunch to follow.

He is survived by wife, Lillian Ioane of Hilo; son, Randy (Roxy) Lau of Dayton, NV; stepsons, Ioane Kua of Hilo, Jason Kamakele and Joel Kaulana Nahoku (Amber) Kamakele of Oahu; stepdaughters, Kessel (Eric) Loo and Mahealani (Samson) Pouha of Hilo and Shalia Kamakele (Christian) Davis of Oahu; brothers, Duke (Brenda) Ioane and Mickey (Pattie) Ioane of Hilo; father, Delbert (Lillian) Whitney of Hilo; two grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; one step great-granddaughter; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Lilian Suefuji

Lilian Yurie Suefuji, 85, of Holualoa, died July 21, 2020 at her residence. Born in Holualoa on Feb. 5, 1935, she was a retired secretary for Geo’ Co. and also worked for J.M. Tanaka Construction Company.

Private services will be held.

She is survived by her companion, Howard Kunimura of Holualoa; son, Kirk Aoki of Hilo; daughters, Sheryl Kaya of Hilo, Jacqueline (Craig) Mukai of Wailuku, Maui, and Valerie Ozaki of St. Louis, MO; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Robert Moody

Robert Raymond Moody, 90, of Leilani Estates, died July 15, 2020, at his residence. Born in Butte, MT, he was a retired Command Sergeant Major for the U.S. Army, commercial crab fisherman, general building contractor and diving instructor.

Services will take place in Alaska at a later date.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Lucy G. Moody. Survived by, Lucy Moody of Leilani Estates; sons, Walter L. Moody of Alaska, Donald E. Moody of Pahoa; five grandchildren.

Wilma Whitney

Wilma Jeane Whitney, 93, of Waikoloa, died July 24, 2020, at her residence. Born in Pueblo, CO, on Oct. 12, 1926, she was a secretary for Firestone Distributors, a member of Sew &Sew Guild, Annunciation Catholic Church in Waimea, and the Waikoloa Senior Citizens Club.

Private services will be held.

She is survived by her husband, Lemona Whitney of Waikoloa; sons, Donald (Susan) Van Gieson, Kimo Van Gieson of Maryland, Pono (Ajija) Van Gieson of California; daughters, Theresa Van Gieson of Waimanalo, Patricia (Marc) Serrano of California, Nancy Thompson of Portland, OR, and Michelle (John) Sakurai of Honolulu; 19 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephew; several cousins.
