Six people were tied up and their possessions taken during a reported Thursday morning robbery at a Pahoa residence involving a group of men with firearms.
At about 4:52 a.m., Puna patrol officers responded to a residence located on the 3700 block of Highway 130 to a report of a robbery involving armed assailants, according to the Hawaii Police Department.
Upon arrival, officers contacted a 43-year-old man and five other victims, males and females ranging in age from 15 years old to 41 years old, according to the department. The victims reported that four to five men with firearms forcibly entered the residence and tied them up before removing several items.
Two of the male victims were assaulted and suffered minor injuries, but declined medical treatment, according to police.
The suspects in this investigation are described as being “local” males who spoke with Pidgin inflections, standing between 5 feet, 7 inches and 6 feet tall. The 6-foot-tall male had a slender build and the other suspects had husky builds, according to police.
All of the suspects, according to police, were wearing dark clothing that covered them from head to toe as well as gloves and had their faces obscured with various coverings. The suspects left the residence in a single vehicle, the description of which is unknown.
