The state Department of Health reported Saturday 87 new positive COVID-19 cases, bringing Hawaii’s total case count to 2,197.

All of the cases reported Saturday were on Oahu, which has seen the majority of the state’s cases since late February, according to the department.

Oahu has reported 1,842 while Maui County has recorded 170 cases, Hawaii County 115 and Kauai County 47. Twenty-three residents have tested positive while out of the state.

Of the Hawaii residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, 1,269 of those cases have since recovered and been released from isolation. That includes all of the 115 cases on Hawaii Island.

Statewide, 194 patients have required hospitalization, including four on Hawaii Island.

Of the 26 deaths reported among Hawaii residents since Feb. 28, 19 were on Oahu, six were on Maui and one was a Kauai resident receiving treatment in Arizona at the time he died.
