Police locate 16-year-old reported as runaway

Sixteen-year old Shayla-Rae Pomroy was last seen around 10 a.m. July 28 in the Hilo area, according to the Hawaii Police Department.

Update: The Hawaii Police Department reported Monday that 16-year-old Shayla-Rae Pomroy was located in the Hilo area and is in good health. She had previously been reported as a runaway.

Hawaii Island police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a juvenile female who was reported as a runaway.

Sixteen-year old Shayla-Rae Pomroy was last seen around 10 a.m. July 28 in the Hilo area, according to the Hawaii Police Department.

Pomroy is described as being 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing 195 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and black athletic shorts, according to police. She may be in the Kona area.
