The state Department of Health on Sunday reported 220 new cases of COVID-19, including four new cases on the Big Island.
With the new cases, Hawaii’s total case count now stands at 5,042 since Feb. 28.
Of the new cases, 202 were on Oahu, 14 were on Maui, and four were on Hawaii Island, according to the Hawaii COVID-19 Joint Information Center.
The majority of the cases have been reported on Oahu at 4,591 cases. Maui County has recorded 226 cases, Hawaii County 148 and Kauai County 54. Twenty-three residents have tested positive while out of the state.
Of the Hawaii residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, 1,841 of those cases have since recovered and been released from isolation. That includes 125 of the 148 known cases on Hawaii Island.
Statewide, 283 or 6% of COVID-19 patients have required hospitalization, including six on Hawaii Island.
Of the 40 deaths reported among Hawaii residents, 33 were on Oahu, six were on Maui and one was a Kauai resident receiving treatment in Arizona at the time he died.
