Toshie Shimizu

Toshie Shimizu, 94, of Keaau, died Feb. 20, 2020 at her residence. Born Dec. 8, 1925, in Kapoho, she was retired from the former Sure Save Supermarkets and was a member of the Puna Hongwanji Buddhist Temple.

Private services held. No flowers.

She is survived by son, Keith (Leila) Shimizu, of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Lynn (Calvin) Koshiyama, of Anchorage, Alaska; brother, Isami Tanioka, of Pahoa; sister, Harumi (Shozo) Nakamura, of Honolulu; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

John Shaw

John W. Shaw, 83, of Pahoa, died Aug. 14, 2020.

Edward Gardner Jr.

Edward “Ed” John Gardner Jr., 58 of Hilo, died Aug. 6, 2020. Born in Honolulu, he was a former painter for A &A Hawaii Inc.

He is survived by son, Terrence Gardner; daughter, Tasha Gardner; mother, Catherine (James) Palama; sisters, Shervelle Gardner of Honolulu and Desiree (Jay) Lee of Waipahu, Oahu; four grandchildren; a niece and nephew; an uncle, aunts, and cousins.

Jeannine Crisafi

Jeannine Kaleonahenaheonalani Palakiko Crisafi, 54, of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 14, 2020, at Kona community Hospital. She was born Sept. 19, 1965 in Honolulu.

She is survived by children, Ivan Basque, Joshua (Leizel) Palakiko-Basque, Jourdan (Andrew) Jossy, Jonah Palakiko, and Isabella Palakiko; mother, Napuaokalani Palakiko all of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Deborah (Joe Guanio) Cortes both of Honolulu, and Patricia (Brad) Sopkin of Kailua-Kona; three granddaughters; two nephews and a grandniece.
