The National Parks Arts Foundation is inviting applications for its summer 2021 Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Artist Residencies program.

The residencies will be held June 1 through June 25, July 5 through July 29, Aug. 2 through 27, and Sept. 6 through 30, 2021.

Each residency includes a $2,000 stipend, studio space, housing, events, and a dolphin and manta ray excursion. Artists stay at a spacious house just outside the park boundaries, close to beaches and 30 minutes by car to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Headquarters.

The program is open to artists in media or genre, residencies feature a public presentation at the park. Accommodations include a solo recording booth in the house for music, podcasting, and sound recording, as well as an external mixing area.

The deadline to apply is Sept. 4.

The nonprofit National Parks Arts Foundation developed the Artist-in-Residence program as a way for artists to be inspired and appreciate the fascinating past and present while giving back to the National Park Service. The NPAF programs are located in national parks and World Heritage Sites in the U.S.
