Satoyo Kaneshiro
Satoyo “Jane” Kaneshiro, 98, of Hilo, died Sept. 22, 2020 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Kihei, Maui, she was a retired waitress from the former Like Like Drive Inn and member of Hui Okinawa and Pomaikai Senior Citizens Club.
Private services. Family requests no koden (monetary gifts) or flowers.
She is survived by sons, Clifford Kaneshiro of Hilo, and Kirby Kaneshiro of California; sister, Jean Goda of Honolulu; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Theresa Kahele
Theresa “Momi” Marcelia Leimomi Kahele, 83, of Kea’au died Aug. 23, 2020, at home. Born in Hilo, she was a retired cafeteria worker at Waiakea High School, employed at Dodi’s Fabric, and a member of Connect Point Church.
Private family services held; celebration of life to be held at a later date.
She is survived by sons, Ralph (Virginia) Kahele Jr. of Hilo and Kimo (Marla) Kahele of Keaau; daughters, Glorietta Kahele of Keaau, Terrie (Shane) Oliveira Sr. of Washington, and Natalie (Daren) Lindinha of Hilo; hanai daughter, Sheena (Harlan) Intendencia of Hilo; sisters, Priscilla Kahele of Hilo and Myra (Ed) Botelho of Kohala; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces and hanai grandchildren.

Layne Narimatsu
Layne Hisao Narimatsu, 74, of Hilo, died Sept. 12, 2020, in the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born in Hilo, he was the proprietor of Vocational Rehabilitation Associates and Services for Seniors, a member of Waiakea Baptist Bible Church and a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran.
Services will be held at a later date. The family requests no koden (monetary offerings).
He is survived by wife, Sara Narimatsu of Hilo; daughter, Erin (James) Franks of Wailuku, Maui; son, Eric (Khayala) Narimatsu of Hilo; mother, Olive Narimatsu of Hilo; five grandchildren; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephew and cousins.

Makoto Ota
Makoto Ota, 83, of Hilo and formerly of Keopu, died Sept. 21, 2020 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born Feb. 24, 1937, in Lanihau, he was an aircraft mechanic, farmer and U.S. Army veteran.
Services will be held at later date. The family requests no flowers or koden (monetary gifts).
He is survived by brothers, Kazumasa (Chea) Ota of Honolulu and Minoru (Arlene) Ota of Keopu; sisters, Aiko (Walter) Kimura of Kailua-Kona and Tsuneko Ota of Honolulu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
