UPDATE: Repairs were completed to the water main break on Puako Beach Drive restoring water service to customers Wednesday evening.
Hawaii County Department of Water Supply customers in the Puako area were without water service through much of Wednesday.
The department reported Wednesday morning a water main break along Puako Beach Drive resulting in no water service for customers along Puako Beach Drive, from the Kona side of the Puako Beach Condominiums to Paniau. Repairs were estimated to be completed within 6 to 8 hours.
A DWS water tanker was stationed near the Puako General Store for the public’s use.
