Frederic Brundage

Frederic William Brundage, 77, of Hawaiian Acres, died Sept. 18, 2020, in Hilo. Born Jan. 5, 1943 in Mt. Kisco, New York, he worked as the University of Bordeaux Lecture Americain and head of the university’s American Library, taught English at Iolani High School in Honolulu, started a men’s group at Iolani, was a roofer, and started a recycling center at the Hawaiian Acres Community Center.

In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Hilo Humane Society or Wesleyan University.

He is survived by daughter, Karla Brundage; brother, Jay (Barbara) Brundage III; one granddaughter.

Kelvin Ceaser

Kelvin Kevin Ceaser, 62, of Naalehu, died Aug. 27, 2020, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Aug. 13, 1958, in New Orleans, he was a landscaper for Paradise Meadows and a cowboy at the former Sands Dairy.

Private services will be held.

He is survived by wife, Stephanie Kaupu Ceaser of Naalehu; sons, Kevin Smith of Jacksonville, Florida, Jonathan Taylor of New Orleans, Stephan Felder and Larry (Pohai) Felder, all of Naalehu, and David Smith, Isaiah Smith and Issac Smith, all of New York; daughters, Gina and Zenia Taylor of New Orleans, Bambi Felder of Indiana; brothers, August (Bernadette) Ceaser and Roger Ceaser of Louisiana; sisters, Lona (Leroy) McCullin of North Carolina, Cathy (Erron) Garner of New Orleans; numerous grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary Wallace

Mary “Ginny” Virginia Wallace, 102, of Kailua-Kona, died July 7, 2020, at her residence. Born Oct. 8, 1917, in St. Louis, Missouri, she was a retired dance instructor and co-owner of the former Dan Wallace Dance Studio, former co-director of The Royal Cotillion Club and a switchboard operator for Mutual Telephone Co.

Services will be held at a later date.

She is survived by daughters, Danielle (Jim) Lightner of Arizona and Paula Gillespie of Kailua-Kona; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
