Kailua Village Artists featured artist
The Kailua Village Artists featured artist for the month of November is stained glass artist Bill Jaeger.
This month Jaeger will introduce several new pieces, including “Honu Triplets,” which incorporates three honu swimming together in the ocean. Another unique piece features honus swimming on a salvaged bicycle wheel. Additionally, Jaeger is bringing back his “Birds on Pewter Branches” series which features local birds. Fans of his work will be happy to see a full range of local favorites – nightlights, sun catchers, and smaller stained-glass panels as well.
Jaeger learned the art of stained glass many years ago, while also working full time and earning a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Wichita State University and an MBA from the University of Kansas.
Learn basics of public support for the arts
Join staff from the National Endowment for the Arts, the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, and Congressman Ed Case next Monday to learn about grants and other resources available from your national and state-level public funders of the arts. It will cover some of the basics of applying for government support.
Following the informational session, you’re invited to participate ina town-hall-style, moderated question-and-answer session. The session will also have a question and answer session. It takes place 10:30-11:30 a.m. Oct. 6. Register in advance for this virtual meeting via https://bit.ly/34kwxJp.
