Teruko Matsunaga, 94, of Hilo, died Sept. 29, 2020 at Legacy Hilo Rehabilitation &Nursing Center. Born Jan. 21, 1926, in Hilo, she was a retired unemployment claims examiner for the Hawaii State Department of Labor and Industrial Relations and member of Honomu Henjoji Mission and Alokele Subdivision Kumiai.

Sandra Kay Scott, 74, of Waikoloa, died Oct. 15, 2020, in Waikoloa. She was born December 17, 1945, in Saginaw, MI. Sandra worked as a writer and field reporter.
She is survived by son Geoffrey (Ilima Choy) Scott of Waikoloa; brother Donald McCurdy of Owosso, Michigan; and Aunt Betty E. Ray of Saginaw, Michigan.

Jeffrey H. Weiss, 71, of Waimea died Oct. 6, 2020, at his home. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 14, 1949, he worked in Salt Lake City’s Public Utilities. He was an avid outdoor enthusiast golfing, camping, backpacking, rafting and fishing in extreme locations.

Delbert Yuen Seong Lau
Delbert Yuen Seong Lau, 88, of Keaau died Sept. 27, 2020, at the Hawaii Care Choice Pohai Malama Hospice Facility. Born in Kula, Maui, he was a retired lineman for the former Hawaiian Telephone Company and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.

Lucino Salboro Gomera, Sr. 92, of Paauilo, passed away on Oct. 3 at home. Born on April 6, 1928, in Laupahoehoe, he was a retired Diesel and Automobile Mechanic for the former Hamakua Sugar Company. He also was a member US Army Veteran during the Korean War, a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa, Santo Ninio Club and Paauilo Community Athletic Association.
