Allen Hart

Allen Lewis Hart, 99, of White Bear Lake, MN formerly of Kailua-Kona died Oct. 20, 2020, at Good Samaritan Society in Stillwater, MN. Born July 23, 1921 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was a retired heavy construction equipment operator and a U.S. Marine WWII veteran.

He is survived by daughters Shirley (Donald) David of Kailua-Kona; Susan (Steven) Oakins of Hudson, WI; Patricia Hart of Edina, MN; Sandra Buresch of Wilson, WY; sons William (Cynthia) Hart of Pelkie, MI; Robert Hart of Minneapolis, MN; Daryl Hart of Richfield, MN; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Winona Puaoi

Winona Koohiki Sau Ling Puaoi, 67, of Holualoa died Oct. 8, 2020, in Holualoa. She was born July 13, 1953, in Honolulu. Winona worked as a night manager at Target.

She is survived by son Kaimi Puaoi of Holualoa; hanai sons Ethan (Lametra) Baiz of Colorado and Kanoa (Carrie) Baiz of Colorado; mother Winona K.K. Wong of Holualoa; brothers Sam (Pamela) Akuna of Holualoa, Lincoln (Lori) Akuna of Holualoa, George Akuna of Holualoa, Wallace Akuna of Maui, and Collins (Pauhi) Akuna of Honolulu; two grandchildren.

Mitchell Bruce

Mitchell “Mitch” Wilson Bruce, 61, of Pahoa died Oct. 19, 2020, at Hilo Medical Center. He was born Nov. 1, 1958 in Tipton, IN. He was an entrepreneur.

A graveside committal service will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 1 at Alae Cemetery. Burial to follow. Casual attire. Masks and social distancing required.

Survived by companion, Maggie Skiba of Mountain View; large family of friends in Pahoa.

Lionel Fujioka

Lionel “Donkey” Toshikazu Fujioka, 77 of Hilo died on Oct. 16, 2020, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired State Highway employee and a member of the Piihonua Community Association and Taishoji Soto Mission. Private services will be held. He is survived by his wife, Florence Fujioka; son, Neil Fujioka; daughter, Tess (Scot) Minemoto; a brother in-law; a grandson; numerous cousins/nephews.

Patricia Grube

Patricia Ann Grube, 75, of Hilo died Oct. 20, 2020, at her residence. Born in Honolulu, she was a homemaker, member of Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church in Keaukaha and volunteer at Keaukaha Elementary School.

Services will take place at a later date.

Survived by husband, Rufus Grube of Hilo; daughters, Charla (Dane Maikui) Kahele of Hilo, Pearl Grube of Hilo, Evelyn (Chavis) Johnson of Honolulu; brother, Kip (Kim) Zsupnik of Montana; a sister-in-law; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces &nephews.
