Keven Handy

Keven Child Handy, 59, of Waimea, died Nov. 5, 2020, at his residence. Born Dec. 10, 1960 in Dallas County, Texas, he was a cell phone salesman for Verizon, a manager at Subway in Hilo, a salesman at Radio Shack and former chief security officer at the Dallas Museum and a former lifeguard in Texas.

No services are planned.

He is survived by wife, Sylvia Hand of Waimea; step-daughters, Cheryl Apalig of Waimea and June (David) Paoa of Puna; brothers, Steve (Emma) Handy of Hilo and Fred (Gerry) Handy of Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Emiko Goya

Emiko Okamoto Goya, 95, of Hilo, died Oct. 25, 2020, at her residence. Born in Hilo, she was a retired accountant with Mauna Kea Agribusiness, a member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin Kyodan, Tenkokyo Hawaii Kyokai, Senior Net, and the Ainako Association.

Private services held. The family requests no koden (monetary offerings).

Survived by sons, Russell (Andrea Ueno) Goya and Curtis (Sharon) Goya of Hilo and Kent (April) Goya of Kaneohe, Oahu; daughter, Naomi (Greg) Kaneko of Kaneohe, Oahu; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Allan Nakayama

Allan Masahiko Nakayama, 98, of Hilo, died Oct. 31, 2020, at his residence. Born in Kealakekua, he was retired from Holmes &Narver.

Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.

He is survived by sons, Allan (Miriam) Nakayama and Dexter Nakayama; daughters, Karen (William) Pupuhi and Charmaine (Alvin) Kawauchi; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
