The University of Hawaii and Stanford football teams have reached agreement on a four-game series beginning in 2023, the schools announced Wednesday.

It will be the first football meeting between the schools since 1972. Stanford, a member of the Pac-12 Conference, has won all three previous meetings.

The first two games of the new series — Sept. 1, 2023, and Aug. 23, 2025 — will be played in Honolulu. UH’s new stadium, which is not yet under construction, is projected to open in 2023. The series concludes with games on Aug. 29, 2026, and Aug. 31, 2030, at Stanford Stadium.

The Rainbow Warriors, who are 2-2 this eight-week regular season, play host to Boise State on Saturday at Aloha Stadium.
