Kerry Takahara

Kerry Y. Takahara, 70, of Los Angeles and formerly of Pahala, died Dec. 14, 2020, at his residence. He was born Jan. 6, 1950.

Services held.

He is survived by wife, Faith Puanani; daughters, Karlyn Ayame, Kristen Kapiolani and Kamarin Hokulani Takahara; brother, Eldon (Susan) Takahara of Nevada; sisters, Sandy (Gene) Hiraki and Kim Ebanez both of Hawaii; many nieces and nephews.

Michael Smith

Michael William Smith, 76, of Waimea and formerly of Kailua, Oahu, died Dec. 20, 2020, in Waimea. Born April 29, 1944, in Honolulu, he was an aircraft mechanic for Pan Am and retired from the City and County of Honolulu.

Services will be held at a later date.

He is survived by spouse, Aulani; sons Mikela Smith of Honolulu, Keoni (Michael Hogan) Smith of Incline Village, NV., and Hauoli (Ray Lopez) Smith-Lopez of Palm Desert, CA; daughter, Kilikina (Jason) Mazik of Colorado Springs, CO; sister, Maxine (Patrick) Smith-Sullivan of Hawaii Kai, Oahu; brother, George Smith of Honolulu; and four grandsons.

Kimi Onodera

Kimi Morita Onodera, 98, Waimea, died Dec. 17, 2020, at her residence. Born April 14, 1922 in Hawaii, she was a member of the Waimea Hongwanji Mission and the Waimea Hongwanji Fujinkai.

Services will be held at a later date.

She is survived by children, Millicent Lurito, Virginia Ruiz, Glenn (Georgie) Onodera, Shirley (Dan) O’connor, Diane Onodera, Leslie (Dorothy) Onodera and Russell Onodera; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Antonio Amoguis

Antonio “Tony” Lowane Amoguis, 86, of Kealakekua, died Dec. 17, 2020, at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born Nov. 11, 1934, in Kohala, he was a dining room manager at the former Kona Inn and Kona Surf hotels, a janitorial manager at the former Kona Surf hotel and a courier for Clinical Labs.

Services will be held at a later date.

He is survived by wife, Margaret Amoguis; son, Anthony (Ramona) Amoguis; daughters, Bernadette (Billy Steven) Amoguis, Jasmine (George Gaspar) Amoguis, and Charlene (Jeff) Pryor; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arthur Ahana

Arthur George Kahalepa’akea Ahana, 78, of Waimea, died Dec. 19, 2020. Born March 23, 1942, in Honolulu, he was a retired electrician and proprietor of Ahana Electric and a member of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Waimea.

He is survived by wife, Gwen Ahana of Waimea; son, Keoni (Roselee) Ahana of Waimea; daughter, Maliaokalani (Nathan) Ahana-Pascual of Waimea; four grandchildren; brothers, Neyland (Naomi) Ahana of Kaneohe, Oahu, and Wildon Ahana of Honolulu; sisters, Novie Widemann and Giselle Ahana of Waimanalo, Oahu; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Reynald Navarro

Reynald Mateo Navarro, 23, of Waimea, died Nov. 30, 2020, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born Jan. 13, 1997, in Marcos, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he worked for Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and Mauna Lani Hotel in the food and beverage departments.

Friends may call for visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Jan. 8, 2021, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

He is survived by wife, May Navarro of Philippines; mother, Lily Navarro of Waimea; father, Dennis Reyes of Philippines; brothers, Rodel Navarro of Honolulu, and Dhenjay Navarro and Reden Navarro, both of Philippines; sisters, Darlene Navarro and Danalyn Navarro Reyes, both of Philippines; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Lillian Dobson

Lillian “Joyce” Dobson, 95, of Mountain View, died Dec. 1, 2020, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born Oct. 18, 1925, in Stratton, Ontario, Canada, she was retired office clerk for the L.A. Unified School District and a retired executive assistant for Satriano and Hilton, and a member of the Turtle Club, Valley Park Baptist Church in California and Puna Covenant Church in Keaau.

Services will be held at a later date.

She is survived by son, Ronald Dobson of Mountain View; daughter, Lisa Smith of Mountain View; sister, Merle (Robert) Kliner of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.
