Hawaii Island police are seeking witnesses as part of their investigation into an incident involving livestock in the Waimea area.
On Monday, South Kohala patrol officers responded to a report of an 8-month-old black steer that was killed and the meat removed on private property in the area known as Dairy Fence off Mana Road in Waimea, according to the Hawaii Police Department. The incident occurred sometime between Sunday evening and Monday morning.
The owners also informed officers that the steer had recently been treated with medications and the meat that was removed is not suitable for human consumption.
