Richard Chung

Richard Allen Chung, 72, of Pahoa, died Dec. 12, 2020, at his residence. Born in Honolulu, he was a dry wall and finish carpenter.

He is survived by daughters, Donna (William) Chung of Atwater, California, and Nena (John) Bizjak of Santa Clara, California; brothers, Herbert Chung of San Luis Obispo, California, Michael (Elaine) Chung of Las Vegas, and Edwin (Carol) Chung, Louis (Kehau) Chung and Keith Barje, all of Honolulu; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Stanley Saragosa

Stanley Wayne Saragosa, 65 of Hilo, died Dec. 17, 2020, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a worker for the Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Jan. 16 at Ballard Family Mortuary in Hilo.

He is survived by partner, Roxanne McFarland; son, Quentin (Shantel) Saragosa; daughters, Shaunna (Fred) Cota and Tasha (Jacob) Augustus; brothers, Leroy (Roxann Fernandez) Saragosa and Joseph Richards; five grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Ernest Teshima

Ernest Etsumi Teshima, 90, of Honalo, died Dec. 26, 2020. Born May 4, 1930, in Kona, he was the treasurer for Teshima Restaurant, a flight attendant for United Airlines, a general office clerk for Los Angeles County, a shoe salesman at McInerny Department Store on Oahu, served on the board for Teshima Family Restaurant and was a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by brothers, Haruo Teshima, of Honalo, and Ted (Nancy) Teshima, of California; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Yoshie Tanaka

Yoshie Tanaka, 93, of Kealakekua, died Dec. 30, 2020, at her residence. Born Sept. 21, 1927, in Kainaliu, she was a housewife and member of Asahi Kumi, Daifukuji Orchid Club and Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple.

She is survived by sons, Karl Tanaka of Kealakekua and Keith Tanaka of Sydney, Australia; and brother, Stanley (Sandra) Oshima of Kealakekua.

Glenn Isbell

Glenn David Isbell, 65, of Ocean View, died Dec. 17, 2020, at his residence. Born July 4, 1955, in Kalispell, Montana, he was a foreign auto repair specialist and a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by his brother, Rick (Jamie) Isbell of Huntington Beach, California; sisters, Mahealani (Patrick) Holzman and Iwalani (Gordon Noice) Isbell, all of Oahu; an aunt; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Albrecht Pfizenmaier

Albrecht Pfizenmaier, 84, of Keaau, died Dec. 28, 2020, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Stuttgart, Germany, he was a retired mechanic and a member of New Hope Hilo.

He is survived by daughters, Rana Pfizenmaier of Waikoloa, Tanja (Mat) Futi of Ewa Beach, Oahu, and Karen (Russell) Ribordy of Keaau; sister, Dorle (Hermann) Stark of Germany; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and two nieces and two nephews.

Francis Heath IV

Francis Rives “Fray” Heath IV, 72, of Volcano, died Dec. 15, 2020, at his residence. Born Oct. 13, 1948, in Honolulu, he was a carpenter, general contractor and retired as president of Heath Construction Services Inc.

He is survived by wife, Carolyn Heath of Volcano; daughters, Kelli (David) Cruz and Karla (Duke) Morgan; and two grandsons.

Michael Borer

Michael “Mike” Thomas Borer, 61, of Castle Rock, CO, and Kailua-Kona, died Dec. 27, 2020, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Jan. 3, 1959, in Washington, D.C., he was the retired president and CEO of Xcel Pharmaceutical Inc.

Reino Huttunen

Reino “Ollie” Huttunen, 88 of Waimea, died Aug. 17, 2020, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born July 26, 1932, in Spencer, New York, he was a U.S. Marine Korean War Veteran and commercial pilot.

Eleanor Stone

Eleanor “Maile” Kamaile Stone, 101, of Waimea, died Dec. 27, 2020, at home. Born Dec. 2, 1919, in Hilo, she was a homemaker and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Waimea 2nd Ward.

She is survived by sons, Lui (Gwen) Stone Jr. of Utah, and Clayson (Kathleen) Stone of Waimea; daughter, Beverly (Myron) Yamamoto of Kohala; 18 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Anne Yanazaki

Anne Mitsue Yanazaki, 97, of Keaau, died Dec. 11, 2020, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born Sept. 24, 1923, in Seattle, she was a homemaker, former RSVP volunteer and member of Puna Hongwanji Mission, Buddhist Women’s Association and Keaau Village Kumiai.

She is survived by son, Robert Yanazaki of Hilo; sisters, Kaye Karasawa and Jeanne Tsutsui, both of California; and two grandsons.

Tetsuo Teraoka

Tetsuo “Terry” “Pika” Teraoka, 92, of Hilo, died Dec. 15, 2020, in Hilo. Born Aug. 2, 1928, in Hilo, he was a retired island manager for the former Brewer Chemical (C. Brewer & Co.) and past president and member of the Hale Kahakai Association and Hilo Crescent City Lions Club.

K. Elizabeth “Bebe” Lorenzo, 85, of Honokaa, died Dec. 25, 2020, at Hale Ho’ola Hamakua. Born Jan. 19, 1935, in Hilo, she was a pa’u rider and rode in many Big Island parades.

She is survived by daughters, Kathy (Glenn) Baybayan and Kimberlee Lorenzo, all of Keaau; sons, Joey (Trish) Lorenzo of Athol, Idaho, and Clifford Lorenzo of Waimea; sister, Theresa Shanahan of Hilo; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and god children.

Achi Ahin

Achi Ahin, 89, of Pahoa, died Dec. 24, 2020, at the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. He was born in Hilo and was a retired vector control inspector with the state Department of Health, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of New Hope Puna.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. Jan. 14 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 6 p.m. service. Friends may also call at noon Jan. 15 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 for a committal service. Casual attire.

Paul Ciminskie, 77, of Pahoa, died Dec. 31, 2020, in Hilo. He was born April 12, 1943, in Grand Rapids, MI.

Brice Buyuan

Brice Kahoiwai “Pocho” Buyuan, 65, of Captain Cook, died Dec. 18, 2020, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in 1955 in Pahala, he was a truck driver for Kau Agribuiness Sugar Co., a transporter for Hertz-Rent-A-Car, a public area attendant for the Four Seasons Hualalai/Keolu and also served in the Army National Guard.
